Sophie Lewis is a British-German writer based in Philadelphia, and teaches courses on feminist philosophy at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. Her essays, on topics ranging from octopuses to Marilyn Monroe, can be found in n+1, The New York Times, Harper's, and the London Review of Books. Sophie has a PhD in human geography, and a bachelor's in Literature as well as a master's degree from Oxford University, but she is nowadays an unpaid independent scholar visiting at the University of Pennsylvania (concentrating on writing her next book, on "enemy feminisms"). Sophie is the author of two books with Verso Books, Full Surrogacy Now: Feminism Against Family, and (most recently) Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation.
