
Sam Thompson is a writer, teacher, organiser, and PhD student in the School of Cinema at Concordia University (Montréal), where he's getting on with his PhD dissertation about cleaning in contemporary platform media. Sam’s academic writing has explored “cinematic workers’ inquiry”, Netflix’s self-mythologies of care, and the possibilities of iPhone realism. His popular writing, from celebrations of militant film cultures to an excoriation of Esther Perel, has appeared in The Baffler, Little White Lies, The New Statesman, The British Film Institute, and Tank Magazine.
