Nara Roberta Silva is a core faculty member at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. Her research and teaching focus on social movements, global Marxism, post/anti-colonialism, and social theory. Nara has taught at universities in the U.S. and Brazil, presented her work in conferences around the world, and her writing has appeared in The Baffler, openDemocracy, and other outlets. She has also been an academic advisor at the Brazilian Foundation, mentoring students with a Brazilian background as they navigate the U.S. educational environment.
