Adora Svitak is a graduate student at Yale in the joint PhD in Sociology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She focuses on gender, power, and intimate life, exploring topics like sexual response and the production and reception of "heteropessimistic" contemporary literary fiction. Prior to Yale, she worked at the non-profit that operates Wikipedia. Adora considers literature both a source of creative joy and an integral form of sociological data.
